Today<a href="http://www.camp-online.org/summit/speakers1.html" target="_blank"> Hayat Sindi</a> is the keynote speaker for the <a href="http://www.camp-online.org/summit/2012.html" target="_blank">Leadership Summit</a> at the <a href="http://www.camp-online.org/" target="_blank">Council for the Advancement of Muslim Professionals</a>. Samia is at the Wyndham Princeton Forrestal Hotel, where the Summit is being held a friend also attending the conference, forwarded the correspondence below.<br />
<br />
Samia was registered to attend the Summit. Ten days before the conference, she received the following email: <br />

<div class="yiv931878732MsoNormal" style="margin: 0.1pt 0in;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times;">Dear Mr. Eba,</span></span></div>
<div class="yiv931878732MsoNormal" style="margin: 0.1pt 0in;">
</div>
<div class="yiv931878732MsoNormal" style="margin: 0.1pt 0in;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times;"> I assume that you are
responsible for canceling my registration to the CAMP Summit and I would like
you to reconsider your decision. I am just one victim of Hayat Sindi's
manipulations. As a leader of an organization of Muslims, CAMP in general and the Summit in
particular, I hope you reconsider your association with, and implicit
endorsement of Hayat Sindi as a Model Muslim Leader. <br />
<br />
As I mentioned in my previous email, Dr. Sindi has misrepresented both herself and her accomplishments as a Muslim
and professional. Dr. Sindi has publicly been involved in an Islamically
inappropriate relationship with my husband since December 2010, calling into
serious question her commitment to social and Islamic ethics. In her home
country of Saudi Arabia, she has brought a frivolous-lawsuit against me, the very
woman whose marriage and family she has threatened to destroy. Moreover, she,
herself, is currently under criminal investigation for the charges of seduction
of my husband, for contributing to the destruction and damage of my 28 year marriage
and family, and for an inappropriate
relationship outside the bounds of Shariah with my <span style="font-style: italic;">haram</span>
(exclusive marital partner).</span></span></div>
<div class="yiv931878732MsoNormal" style="margin: 0.1pt 0in;">
</div>
<div class="yiv931878732MsoNormal" style="margin: 0.1pt 0in;">
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times;"> In
addition, her personal, professional and academic resume calls into question her credentials as a scholar
and a professional. What might seem as trivial dishonesty or vanity about her
age, has given her opportunities that should have gone to those who actually
fit the “youth” criteria for specific awards. For example, at 40 years of
age, Sindi was awarded the 2007 Arab-American Science and Technology Young
Professional Award: which
“recognizes the early career achievements of a young Arab or Arab-American
scientist or technologist.” At 42
years Sindi was granted the 2009 PopTech Social Innovation Fellowship: for “high potential young leaders.” And
at 43 years she was awarded a 2011 National Geographic Emerging Scholar Award:
which “supports uniquely gifted and inspiring young adventurers, scientists,
photographers, and storytellers—explorers who are already making a difference
early in their careers.” By
misrepresenting her age, Sindi robbed opportunities for recognition, public
relations support, funding opportunities and career advancement, from the very
youth she proclaims to support with her new institute, <a href="http://i2institute.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><span style="color: windowtext; text-decoration: none;">http://i2institute.org</span></a>. Again, not the actions of a true role
model, not the least a Muslim one.</span></span></div>
<div class="yiv931878732MsoNormal" style="margin: 0.1pt 0in;">
</div>
<div class="yiv931878732MsoNormal" style="margin: 0.1pt 0in 0.0001pt;">
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times;"> Secondly,
professionally, Dr. Sindi promotes herself as one of the “one of the world's
leading biotechnologists” and her company Sonoptix Technology, “a UK company
established with Saudi seed money” as developing clinical diagnostics tools for
the detection of cancer. According to online sources, Dr. Sindi is the only
director, and perhaps only employee of Sonoptix, the company is housed in a
storefront in Cambridge, UK, and has not ever produced, marketed or sold any
product. For the records available online
(http://company-director-check.co.uk/director/909517346) Sonoptix has a total capital of </span><span style="font-family: Times;">£1000 UK, and has had no financial activity
whatsoever since 2007. These are just a couple of the inconsistencies in Dr.
Sindi’s professional resume.</span></span></div>

</div>
<div class="yiv931878732MsoNormal" style="margin: 0.1pt 0in 0.0001pt;">
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times;"> CAMP
cannot be faulted with having been mislead about Ms. Sindi’s questionable
ethical behavior and debatable academic and professional accomplishments. However canceling my registration at
the behest of Hayat Sindi is unjust and unprofessional. I once again request that
you reinstate my registration. I look forward to being able to reregister when I
come to the Summit tomorrow.</span></span></div>

On January 23, 2012, Samia was summoned to the police station to
respond to a complaint that had been filed against her by Hayat Sindi. Sindi accused Samia over the past year of harassing and threatening Sindi and
the man with whom she was involved in a “mashrou’a jawaz,” or, in the
words of the officer, her fiancé (khateebha). When he was asked, the officer
told Samia that Sindi's khateeb (fiancé), was none other than Fouad Dehlawi, Samia’s

The officer asked Samia to come and give her response, and to bring
her Wali Amr (legal guardian), who was none other than her husband!
In Saudi Arabia, women have limited self-determination. Women are forbidden from driving, may not travel, and may not marry without the permission of their legal guardian. Samia asked her husband to accompany her to the police station. From
that day Fouad Dehlawi completely avoided her, ignoring her phone calls,
text messages, emails and personal requests from his father. When Samia
was unable to reach him for six days, she went alone, by herself, to
the station and responded to the false accusations Hayat Sindi had made
against her.<br />
